Marilyn A. Ayers

Marilyn A. Ayers, age 91, of Piedmont, MO, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, MO.   Marilyn was born April 18, 1920 to the late Louis Zack and Mary Mowery Zack, in Akron, OH.    Marilyn attended Portage Path Elementary School and Butchel High School in Akron, OH.   She also attended Kent State University and Hammis Business College.  On July 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Ralph Ayers, who preceded her in death. Of this union two children were born.   Marilyn was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Christ Methodist Church.

Marilyn loved cooking with Ralph and they would always make lasagna.  She also loved to knit; she made sweaters and afghans.  Marilyn spent most of her life being a wife and a mother.  At one time she sold real estate and also worked as a dental assistant.  She spent her childhood and her adult life in Akron, OH.  In later years she moved to Piedmont, MO to be closer to her family.  She was a member of Eastern Star, Akron Women City Club and The Junior Women’s Civic Club.  Marilyn loved her family, friends & her beloved dog, Butch.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter Katheryn (Ayers) Ferguson and one brother Eddie Zack.

Marilyn is survived by one daughter Mary Lou Dethick of Akron, OH and one son-in-law James Ferguson, of Piedmont, MO, along with five grandchildren and nine grandchildren.

Interment was at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron, OH on Tuesday January 17, 2012.  Online condolences may be made at www.rueggfuenralhomes.com.
