Ruegg Funeral Homes Non-Licensed Staff

Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.


Emily J. (McCord) Ruegg

Emily J. (McCord) Ruegg is co-owner and Vice-President of Ruegg Funeral Homes, Inc. She was salutatorian of the Greenville High School class of 2002 and she graduated summa cum laude from Southeast Missouri Sate with a bachelors degree in French and family studies. She also attended Three Rivers Community College and Universite d’Angers in France.

Emily grew up on a farm near Clubb, Mo. She enjoys raising the Rueggs’ young family in the same relaxed, rural way of life. She is currently attending Harvest Baptist Church in Piedmont and is happy to help out as needed at the Funeral Home.


Anita Wills, Greenville Branch Manager

Anita F. (Rose) Wills of Greenville, began working for Gish-Bowles & Coder Funeral Homes in 1982. She has remained a member of the staff since, serving as Branch manager of the Greenville Chapel and pre-need counselor.

Anita is married to Al Wills. They have two children, Rendell and Carla. They have 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Anita grew up in the Lake Creek community. She is an active community member and an active member of the Kime General Baptist Church, near Greenville.
Anita is the Greenville Facility Manager.


Helen Crites, Williamsville Branch Manager

Helen (Duckett) Crites, of Williamsville, has served as an employee of Ruegg Funeral Homes, Inc. since 1989. She and her late husband Clifford Crites were branch managers of the Williamsville Funeral Chapel. Upon the death of Clifford in 2009, she has taken over the responsibility of the Funeral Home on her own.

A life-long resident of Williamsville, she has been an active community member for many years. She is a long time member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church and the Williamsville Lions Club. She served as City Treasurer of Williamsville for many years and is past member of the Greenville R-2 School Board.


Al Wills, Support Staff Albert H. “Al” Wills, of Greenville, began working for Ruegg Funeral Homes, Inc. in 1988. He remained a full time employee until his retirement in 1997. Since his retirement he has remained a part time employee of the Funeral Home.

Al is married to the former Anita Rose and they have two children, Rendell and Carla. They have 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Al is a veteran of the U.S. Army and an active member of Kime General Baptist Church, near Greenville. He is also an active used car salesman in Piedmont.


Brandon Throop, Support Staff
Brandon Throop, Support Staff Brandon Throop, of Piedmont, has been employed by Ruegg Funeral Home since 2008 in the maintenance department. Brandon grew up in the Shook community of Wayne County. He is a 2008 graduate of Greenville High School and is currently attending Three Rivers Community College.

He was very active in Scouting growing up and in 2007 he received the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Brandon also works part time at the Pine Hill Drive Inn in Piedmont. He is a member of the Walker Branch United Baptist Church in Lesterville, MO. He is currently attending the Faith Christian Church in Piedmont.


Tracy R. Quinter, Pre-need Counselor
Tracy R. Quinter of Patterson, MO., has been employed by Ruegg Funeral Homes since 2010 as a Pre-need Counselor. Tracy grew up in Southeast Missouri and Arizona. She is a 1978 graduate of Neelyville High School. She graduated from the Adelphi Business College in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1986.

Tracy is an active member of Patterson Baptist Church, where she has been involved working with the youth.

Craig Caruthers, Monument Works Manager Craig has been employed by Ruegg Funeral Homes since 2010 as the Monument Works shop manager. His experienced in various types of stone work. Craig has lived in S.E. Missouri since 2005. He relocated from South Carolina.

He and his family are active members of Victory Baptist Temple here in Piedmont, Missouri.


Shelby H. Thornhill, Support Staff Shelby serves Ruegg Funeral Home as a member of the Support Staff. He has been employed since 2010.

Shelby is the husband of Judy Thornhill, and the proud grandfather to Fred and James Ruegg. He has lived in Wayne County for the last 20 years.
