Ronald Abernathy of Piedmont, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at his residence.  Ronald was born July 8, 1943, in Ballwin, MO, son of Wilson and Dorothy Ridgeway Abernathy. On December 21, 1989, “Ron” was united in marriage to Donna McAllister in Greenville, MO. Ron had honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Through the years Ron had lived in many different places and had many adventures farming and working in the watchmaking industry. He traveled across the country from Washington State and Arizona to work in the fruit farming industry. He had also raised pigs on his Clark Creek farm. Spare time activities included hunting, fishing, and yard sales with his friend Greg Allen. Ron is survived by his wife Donna; two brothers, Larry Abernathy and his wife, Janet, and Bob Abernathy and his wife, Rachel, both of Piedmont; one sister, Barb Magill of Park Hills, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside funeral was held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Meador Flatwoods Cemetery in Piedmont, MO at 2:30 P.M. Ron’s friend Rev. Greg Allen ministered to the family and Travis Abernathy, Vince Abernathy, Jay Teal, Kevin Carrol, James Feliciano and Rev. Greg Allen served as pallbearers.
