Rebecca L. “Becky” Wood, 63, of Williamsville, MO, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1956, in Poplar Bluff to parents Perry and Lillian (Ballew) Wood. Becky was a loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She never met a stranger. She loved to travel, especially to Tennessee, which was her favorite place to go. She was involved with the Wayne County Nutrition Center and Williamsville Booster Club was a proud supporter of both. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with her friends on social media. Although Becky never had any children of her own, she was blessed to be surrounded daily by the thousands of students that she befriended and mentored throughout her thirty-two years working at the Greenville school district. Becky will be greatly missed by family, friends and community. She is preceded in death by both her parents. Becky is survived by her brother: Duane Wood of Williamsville; her sister: Elaine Thompson of Williamsville and a host of other sisters. Graveside service was at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 28, 2019, at Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff, MO. Sis. Helen Edwards ministered to the family. Music was provided by Debra Wilkes and Kristin Little. Jimmy Willard, Eugene Willard, Danny Birdsong, Lee Hillis, Bob Hillis, and Fred Abbott served as pallbearers.
