Allie Roy Tindell

Allie Roy Tindell, 81, of De Soto, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Newark, AR, December 20, 1941, to parents Albert Leroy and Lena May (Sanders) Tindell.  

Roy was a devoted husband, nurturing father, and loving grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all. He married Mary Elizabeth Stanford on July 23, 1960, and they were blessed with three children. Roy was a Christian, and a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Piedmont. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he met. His special gift was the gift of gab. Roy enjoyed traveling, and he and Mary have traveled to every state except ten. Roy was a classic car buff. He not only owned several, he loved to restore and enter them in car shows. Most of all, Roy loved to spend time with his family.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Ray Tindell; sisters: Alice Perry, Hazel Clark, Wanda Sherman, and Evelyn Tindell.  

Roy is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years; his children: Marty Tindell and wife Melody of Pacific, Mark Tindell and wife Chrystal of Kokomo, IN, Sherrie Schmidt and husband Steve of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Roy will be greatly missed.  

Visitation was held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 9, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Pete Ruble ministered to the family. Marty Tindell, Mark Tindell, Steve Schmidt, Steve Schmidt Jr., Nathan Jones, and Brandon Meyer served as pallbearers.
