Anthony Nelson

Anthony Gene Nelson, 60, of Oak Ridge, MO, formerly of Clubb, MO, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his residence. He was born November 17, 1962, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to parents Jasper Henry and Norma Louise (Tibbs) Nelson.  

Anthony was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Anthony had worked at Nordyne, and Mid-Continent Steel and Wire and he loved to work. He was always busy tinkering with different things, sharpening knives, and keeping his hands busy. Anthony was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed music, and loved to watch NCIS.  

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother: Jerome Nelson; and his sister: Doris Jean Nelson.  

Anthony is survived by his mother; children: Nikki Calhoun and husband James of Jonesboro, AR, Amber Nelson of Clubb; grandchildren: James Calhoun Jr., Ally Calhoun; brothers: Johnny Nelson and wife Terrie of Gainesville, Allen Nelson of Coldwater, Gary Nelson and wife Joyce of Owensville, Earnie Wilson and wife Shawna of Ellsinore; sisters: Vera Archer of Oak Ridge, Yvonne Smith of Fredericktown; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Anthony will be greatly missed.
