Arlene Verheecke, 79, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her residence. She was born in St. Charles, MO, on June 27, 1941, to parents Truman and Arcie Idabelle (Warren) Middleton.
Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She married Charles Verheecke on May 2, 1959, and to this union, a beautiful daughter was born. She worked as a cashier in multiple retail stores most of her working career and a food demonstrator at Costco’s. Arlene enjoyed swimming in the river on a hot day, traveling, and finding bargains at garage sales. She also enjoyed going on cruises. Arlene was very family oriented and loved her grandchildren to the moon and back. She went to all their activities and was their biggest fan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years; her brother: Ralph Middleton.
Arlene is survived by her daughter: Debbie Cook and husband John of St. Charles; grandchildren: Michael, Stephen, Matthew, Daniel, and David “DJ” Markivee, great-grandchildren: Millie, Myles, Amelia, Charles, and Mason Markivee, Shaelea Withrow; brother: Lloyd Warren. Arlene will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. John Radford ministered to the family. Stephen Markivee, Matthew Markivee, Daniel Markivee, David "DJ" Markivee, Jared Monson, and Roy Million served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt.
