Billy “Bill” K. Farris, 80, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital St. Louis, MO. He was born in Ellsinore, MO, January 13, 1945, to James and Elsie (Patterson) Farris.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His life was filled with devotion to his family, his faith, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.
On October 12, 1963, Bill married the love of his life, Frieda Mann. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family, and were blessed with two daughters. Their sixty-one years of marriage stand as a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Bill spent twenty-nine years working for Brown Shoe before continuing his career at Town and Country as a carryout, where he enjoyed connecting with people and serving his community. A proud Christian and a member of the Baptist faith, Bill was a man of deep spiritual conviction who loved reading his Bible and sharing God’s word with anyone willing to listen.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and explore the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Music brought him great joy, especially singing and playing his acoustic and bass guitars. Bill also had a curious mind and a big heart. He was a lifelong learner, a dedicated reader, and a faithful friend who stayed in touch through Facebook, always eager to connect, share stories, and offer encouragement.
Bill was a big kid at heart, especially during Halloween, as he enjoyed handing out candy to trick-or-treaters and seeing the excitement in their faces.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Dean, Gene, James, and Charles Farris; sisters: Eunice Baker, Pearl Quillman, Eloise "Tootsie" Chandler, and Ethel Gilman.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-one years; daughters: Janice Jimerson and husband Dale, and Rebecca “Becky” Farris, all of Piedmont; grandchildren: Dawna Gore and husband Nick, Michael Keith and wife Hannah, and LaToya Bollinger; great-grandchildren: Kayden, AJ, Aleaya, Kameron, and Archer; half-brother: Johnny Farris and wife Lueva; sister: Beverly James; sisters-in-law: Elma Roever, Connie Webb, Geneva Skelton, and Dianne Webb; brother-in-law, Babe Mann and wife Fran.
Bill’s kind heart, unwavering faith, and joyful spirit will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
