Carol E. Higgins, 77, of Farmington, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL. She was born September 30, 1946, in Sabula, MO, to parents Clarence and Bernice (Gibson) Kendrick.
Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She married Glenn Higgins on October 2, 1999. Carol achieved a bachelor’s degree in counseling. She was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church, Des Arc, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher. Carol lived a life of service and evangelization for the Lord. She was a member of the Ladies Christian Organization in Kentucky. You could often find Carol listening to Christian music or watching her favorite television show, Walker Texas Ranger. Carol also enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband of twenty-two years; daughter: Michelle Sherman; grandson: Levi Happy; sisters: Regina Miller, Dana Noonan.
Carol is survived by her children: Steven Happy of Lincoln, AR, Olivia Happy of Annapolis; grandchildren: Brittany Hazel and husband James, Jessica Williams and husband Cody, Zackary Sherman, Brandon Happy, Lucille Happy; great-grandchildren: JC, Taygen, Wyatt, Brooke, Johnny, Zoey, Jackson, Harper; brother: Steven Kendrick of Piedmont. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Pete Ruble ministered to the family. Brittany Hazel, JC Hazel, Jessica Williams, Cody Williams, Zachary Sherman, and Evan McCaig served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt.
