Carrie Ethel "Sparky" Lewis, 94, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her daughter’s residence. She was born January 29, 1929, to parents Allen and Hattie (Knight) Markham.

Carrie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was married to Cobrin Lewis and to this union eight children were born. She was known for being just a little bit onery. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. Carrie was a dedicated and hardworking lady, who had a special relationship with everyone who knew her. Her grandchildren were everything to her and they all loved her dearly. She was a grandmother to many in the neighborhoods she lived in. She will be dearly missed. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband; sons: Gary Lewis and Donnie Lewis; daughter: Connie Woolsey; brothers: John Markham, Herbert Markham, Willard Markham; sisters: Dorothy Cashen, Alta Howard, Nellie Crow, Margaret Imergoot, Nina Reece, Josephene Cole, Cora Bryant, Roberta Ellis.

Carrie is survived by her children: Ronnie Lewis of St. Louis, Dennis Lewis, Pat Cradic and husband Donnie, Barbara Lewis, all of Piedmont, Lisa Sellers and husband Terry of Patterson; sisters: Dixie Risher of Ironton, Pat Sanford of Park Hills; thirteen grandchildren and Thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10:00 am, also at Piedmont chapel. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com

Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 1, 2023, also in the Piedmont Chapel.
