Charles Thomas "Tom" Seematter, 79, of Branson, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO. He was born in Ironton, MO, on January 7, 1944, to parents Charles and Ruth (Clark) Seematter.
He was united in marriage to Beverly Casteel on July 19, 1969, and to this union three children were born. Tom enjoyed spending time with family, going fishing, and playing games. He liked to do free style art and cartoons, which he was really good at. He attended SEMO, was an Olivet student and Seminary graduate. Tom was very passionate about welcoming home fellow Vietnam veterans through Project Homecoming. He served in the United States Army in Viet Nam from December 1968 to April 1969.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two grandchildren: Ethan Riggs and Tayler Huett.
Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Beverly (Casteel) Seematter; daughters: Terri Miller and husband Joe, Jackie Riggs and husband Richard, Joy Middleton and husband Tim; brother: Steve Seematter and wife Linda; sister: Janice Buchanan and husband Randy; grandchildren: Olivia, Amber, Sydnee, Orrin, Sam; great-grandchildren: Oliver, Liam, Vivian, Bash, Gracelyn, Everett, Colby, Laney; many nieces and nephews and countless friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Randy Buchanan read the obituary. Terri Miller was the speaker. Steve Seematter and Janice Buchanan gave heartfelt eulogies. A special song was provided by Jackie Riggs. Sam Ivy, Brenden Macomber, Craig Seematter, Garrett Hovis, Andrew Hovis, Caleb Seematter, and Oliver Peed served as pallbearers. Burial was in Annapolis Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army and Marine Corps League Post 1081 of Cape Girardeau, MO.
