Charles Lee Bennett, affectionately known as Chuck, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 65. Born on May 7, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, Chuck lived a life full of dedication and passion.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jeanne Bennett (née Mann). He was a devoted father to John Klouck (Jennifer) and Bethany Carr (Caleb). Chuck was also a proud grandfather to Eean, Felicia, Braden, Breanna, Zachary, Peyton, Ethan, Zarah, and Zachariah, who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings, Tracey Bennett, David Bennett, Phillip Bennett, Toni Bennett, and Roni Bennett mourn his loss as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Bullock and George L. Bennett; and sisters: Lockie Morgan and Sandra Kamer.
Chuck was a cherished member of his community, known for his friendly demeanor and dedication. He served as a school bus driver for the local school district for many years, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless children. His passion for communication extended to the airwaves, where he was a beloved morning show DJ on local radio, brightening the mornings of many listeners with his warm voice and engaging personality.
Outside of his professional life, Chuck enjoyed playing computer and video games, a hobby that allowed him to unwind and connect with others.
Chuck's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation was at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. A memorial service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Alfea Crenshaw ministered to the family. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
