Clinton Hicks Jr.

Clinton Hicks Jr. 74, of Piedmont, MO, passed away, Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born February 18, 1946, in Patterson, to parents Clinton and Eunice (Aldrich) Hicks Sr.

Clint was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was united in marriage to Florence Balzell on April 18, 1965, and they were blessed with five sons. Clint worked at Brown Shoe Company for twenty-five years. He loved spending time fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and spending time with his family and friends. The week before Clint’s passing, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his loving wife of forty-seven years; brothers: Paul Hicks, Clecy Hicks; sisters: Irene Sutton, Grace Stuart, and Wanda Jernigan.

Clint is survived by children: Jerry Balzell and wife Mary Kay of St. Augustine FL, Charles Hicks and wife Debbie of Paragould AR, Clinton Hicks and wife Natalie of Piedmont, Frank Hicks of Park Hills, and Paul Hicks and wife Jennifer of Piedmont; grandchildren: Brenadette Hassell, Breanna Hicks, Taylor Hicks, Ashley Hicks, Jessica White and husband Adam, Rashelle Hicks, Clinton Hicks, Meagan Beezley and husband Chris, Jacqueline Balzell, Deric Paynter and wife Kasey, and Justin Balzell; many great-grandchildren, and very special friend: Alice Radford.

Visitation was held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Jim Stewart ministered to the family. Clinton L. Hicks, Clinton M. Hicks, Jerry Balzell, Taylor Hicks, Tim Radford, and Jeff Radford served as pallbearers. Paul Hicks, and Charlie Hicks served as honorary pallbearers. Burial followed at Forest Chapel Cemetery, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
