Connie (Hensley) Sutton

Connie Lee Sutton, 75, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Centralia, IL, September 27, 1950, to Jack Joe and Ava Lee (Thompson) Hensley.

Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married the love of her life, George Tony Sutton, on February 14, 1969, and together they were blessed with two children and many wonderful memories.

Connie worked as a secretary for Wayne County Family Services for many years. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and taking short trips with her co-workers through work. Connie never met a stranger and loved being around people. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years; children, Michael Sutton and Sheri McCormick and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Christin Hefley, and Donnie Hefley and fiancé Kelsie Long; great-grandson, Jayden Hefley; brothers, John Hensley and Tex Hensley and wife Bonnie.

Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Jeff Parker ministered to the family. Burial was in Murphy Cemetery, Piedmont. Donnie Hefley, Danny Patterson, Jayden Hefley, Robby Sutton, Ronnie Street, and Mike Nobe served as pallbearers.
