David James Stockbauer, 74, of Williamsville, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born in Victoria, TX, October 13, 1946, to parents George and Agnes (Otto) Stockbauer.
Dave was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked as a foreman at a Rock Quarry. Dave served in the United States Navy completing Vietnam Tour and earning several medals. He was of the Catholic faith, never met a stranger and enjoyed talking about politics. Dave was a dog lover, donated to charities and loved to go fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Loretta Hillis; sister: Katherine Johnson, and his long-time sweetheart of over thirty years, Myrtle Hillis.
Dave is survived by his children: Michael Stockbauer and wife Liz of Rose Hill, KS, Jason Boudreaux of Louisiana, Frank Hillis and wife Julie of Fairdealing, Stacy Howard and wife Nicole of Topeka, KS, Kimberly Galgon and husband David of Douglass, KS, Shelly Bevan of El Dorado, KS, Vicky Clinton and husband Eddie of Greenville, Jolene Bolin of Bloomfield, Claudia Henson and husband Jesse of Bloomfield; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; Mary Lou Drabek and husband Bennie of Westhoff, TX; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Dave will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held at 9:30 am, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 10:00 am, also in the Williamsville Chapel with full military honors provided by the United States Navy and the VHG of Poplar Bluff, MO.
