Dean Osborn, 80, of Greenville, MO, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Greenville on June 1, 1941, to parents Frank and Mozuria (Campbell) Osborn.
Dean was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a Greenville High School graduate, class of 1959. Dean married the love of his life, Carolyn “Kathy” Bishop, on July 7, 1962, and to this union three children were born. He owned and operated McAllister’s Hardware Store in Greenville for many years with Kathy by his side. Dean was of the Baptist faith and a member of Kime General Baptist Church for over forty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, buying, and trading. Dean was one of the local favorites, often seen with his friends at the Greenville Gas Station. He was a great asset to the community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Franklin “Ray” Osborn and one sister, Glenda Hopkins.
Dean is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years; children: Dennis Osborn and wife Renee of Greenville, Janet Berkemann and husband Paul of New Baden, IL, Deana Janes and husband Rick of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Brittney Ramage, Jace Osborn, Ellianna Janes Fletcher Janes; great-grandchild: Hawkins Ramage; brother: Bob Osborn and wife Linda of Jackson; sister: Shirley Buck of Cape Girardeau; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 4 p.m., also in the Greenville Chapel. Bro. Kenny Burchard and Bro. Louie Robinson ministered to the family. Dennis Osborn, Jace Osborn, Paul Berkemann, Rick Janes, Jordan Ramage, and Michael London served as pallbearers. Burial was in Greenville City Cemetery.
