Dennis Leon Marler, 71, of Williamsville, MO, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born in St. Louis, MO, May 20, 1953, to parents Don and Betty (Bilbrey) Marler.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He married the love of his life, Carol Bratton, on March 12, 1974, and they were blessed with four children. He was a constant companion to Carol and a willing helper to all those who needed him, especially his family.
Dennis had a long and successful career with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) in Piedmont, where he worked for thirty-two years and retired as the Piedmont Shed Supervisor in 2007. He was also a dedicated volunteer with the Williamsville Rural Fire Department and enjoyed helping to organize baseball and softball activities in the community. A proud advocate for education, he served as a past member of the Greenville School Board.
In his free time, Dennis enjoyed the outdoors—whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply spending time in nature. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he found joy in mechanic work. After his retirement, his favorite morning spot was at the local coffee shop with “the guys”. He cherished these moments, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him. Dennis’ greatest legacy was his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Brad Marler.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of fifty years; children: Denny Marler of Williamsville, Stacy Hampton and husband Kelly of Van Buren, Tyler Marler of Williamsville, Katie Marler and wife Lauren of Midland, Texas; grandchildren: Courtney, Gage, Maddie, Wyatt, Gracyn, and Braxton; great-grandchild: Bailey.
Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A visitation only was held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville Chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
