Donnie Sanders Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Donnie (Donna Luke) Sanders, who left us peacefully on February 20th 2025 at the age of 80 in Oran Mo. Born on October 18th 1944  in Williamsville MO, she was the daughter of Charles Walter Luke and Edith Leoria (Durrow) Luke, wife of Henry Willard Sanders.

As a devoted homemaker, Donna poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing environment for her family. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, delicious meals, and countless cherished memories. She had a unique gift for making every occasion special, whether it was a holiday gathering or a simple family dinner.

Her love for her family knew no bounds. She was the glue that held us together, always ready with a comforting word, a warm hug, or a listening ear. Donna taught us the importance of kindness, compassion, and resilience, instilling values that will carry on through generations.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband; brothers: Charles Jr and Lynn Ray; sisters: Linda Kay, Wilma; son-in-law: Bill Cunningham.

Donna Sanders is survived by her loving children: David Sanders of Poplar Bluff, Mary Cunningham of Colby KS, Sharon Smith and husband Michael Smith of Sikeston, Paul Sanders and wife Teresa of Fairdealing, Janet Fite and husband Mike of Monticello IN; cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Steven, Cody, Desiree, Charity, Hannah, Candise, Joshua, Christopher, Andrew, Alex, Rusty, Carmen; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty, Evelyn, and Carolyn; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were lucky to know her. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever be etched in our hearts.

Though Donna has left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. We find comfort in knowing that her love will forever surround us, reminding us to cherish each other as she cherished us.
