Mrs. Doris Eileen McKillop, age 101, passed away on September 9, 2023, in Tequesta, Florida. She was born in Aylmer, Ontario, Canada, on February 7, 1922, to William and Ina Claire McKibbin.
By God’s grace, she committed her life to following her Lord Jesus at the age of 18; that relationship shaped her entire life and continues to shape the lives of her family and the many lives she impacted through her faithful service. On August 7, 1943, Doris married Jack McKillop. In July of 1952, Doris and Jack answered a call to serve the Lord with their lives and moved to Jamaica to serve as missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions. In July of 1976, Doris and Jack moved to Silva, Missouri, to serve with Baptist Mid-Missions at Missionary Acres.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; an infant son, Kenneth Douglas, who is buried in Jamaica; and her husband of nearly 70 years.
She is remembered with joy and gratitude by her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren: Margaret Whitehead; Barbara and Kieron Sharpe; Brian and Gloria McKillop; Marianne and Daniel Devasirvatham; Billy and Sherry McKillop; Carla and Robert Brown; Tammy and Rosaire Bondy; Angie and Marc Dyke; Sarah McKillop; Charity and Lee Myers; Katie and Seth Rowe; Rachel and Jon Gaydosh; Ariel and Joel Mendez; Raj and Heather Devasirvatham; Shanthi and Dawson Shaver; Priya Devasirvatham; Caleb McKillop; Zachary and Sofia McKillop; Gabrielle and Ian McKittrick; Daniel, Alysha, Lauren, and Nicole; Kayla, Lily, Josiah, Corrie, and Joshua; Nate, Maddison, and Eliana; GracieAnne, Analeigh, and Jack; and Sophia.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Evangel Baptist Church, Missionary Acres. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. also at Evangel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Twidwell Cemetery in Clubb.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Tequesta’s First Baptist Church in Tequesta, Florida. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, Jupiter, Florida, is also assisting the family.
