Dorothy “Dotty” Mae Owens, 82, of St. Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Malden, MO, June 18, 1943, to parents William and Gladys (Brooks) Horn. Dotty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who never met a stranger. She had the gift of gab and loved meeting new people wherever she went. Her outgoing personality led her to be active in many organizations throughout the years, including a CB club and serving as a Boy Scout Leader. Dotty was of the Jehovah Witness faith. She married the love of her life, Bobby Owens, September 10, 1960, and together they were blessed with five children and shared many cherished memories. Dotty and Bob owned and operated an antique shop in Rosati, MO, for several years, where they enjoyed meeting people and sharing their love of antiques. They also enjoyed traveling together over the years. Dotty had a special love for jewelry which she had a lot of and treasured looking through it every day. She also had a special love for animals and especially enjoyed raising dogs. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-eight years; daughter: Trisha Kneip; brothers: Carl, Bob, Charlie, David, and Billy Horn. Dotty is survived by her children: Michael Owens, Wesley Owens and wife Terri, Tammy Capobianco, and Brian Owens; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; son-in-law: Staci Kneip, many nieces, nephews and many friends. Dotty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 12:30 pm, also in the Williamsville Chapel. Greg Matchick ministered to the family. Music was provided by Grace Brooks and Sissy Kniep gave a heartfelt eulogy. Michael Griffith, Jason Wright, Jesse Henson, Brandon Kneip, Dustin Lansing, and Staci Kneip served as pallbearers. Burial was at Black River Cemetery, Williamsville.
