Dosey Harper III, 65, of Greenville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Dosey was born in St. Louis, MO, on April 3, 1959, to Dosey and Dorothy (Herbst) Harper Jr.
Dosey was a phenomenal son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. Dosey married the love of his life, Joyce Williams, on October 21, 1981, and they were blessed with two sons. He was a hard worker and good provider for his family. A committed employee of US Foods for thirty-three years, Dosey exemplified the values of hard work and loyalty. He was a Christian of the non-denominational faith, and in his pursuit of spiritual growth, he attended Brooks Bible Institute, becoming ordained. Dosey enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and was an avid wrestling fan. He was known for his joyful spirit, sense of humor, and ability to make others feel welcome and loved. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his family and the many lives he touched with his generosity and compassion.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister: Venus "Sue" Roberts.
Dosey is survived by his mother; his wife of forty-three years; sons, David Harper of St. Louis, and Willie Harper and companion Jennifer Jones of Imperial; grandchildren: Morgan, Larissa, Andrew, and Mason Harper; great-grandchildren; Adanaya and Grayson Harper; four step-grandchildren; brother; William Harper and fiancé Denise Mitchell of Overland; and a host of friends and extended family. Dosey will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him.
Visitation was held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, also in the Greenville Chapel. Cremation followed service. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
