Elvin Pauls Obituary

Elvin Lee Pauls, 86, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born in Piedmont, December 12, 1936, to parents Claus T. and Rozella (Blandau) Pauls.

Elvin was a loving father, an adopted grandpa, beloved brother, and devoted friend. He proudly served in the United State Army. He married Ann Louise Casey, and they were blessed with one son. Elvin received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers for many years in St. Louis, Chicago, and Washington DC. He also worked for McDonald Douglas. Elvin was of the Lutheran faith. After retirement, he traveled extensively. Elvin’s favorite place was Germany. His favorite pastime was working his business, Pauls Saler Cattle. He enjoyed raising his Saler Bulls, and cattle. He enjoyed carpentry as well. He built his farm home himself and enjoyed playing chess with his friends. Elvin was a caring, compassionate person and was always ready to help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Kenneth, Paul, Marvin, and Ronnie Pauls.

Elvin is survived by his son: Jeff Pauls of St. Louis; adopted grandchildren; sister: Deloris Moss of Piedmont; sister-in-law: Margaret Pauls of Union City, TN; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Elvin will be greatly missed.

Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 12, 2023, also in Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Mark Rogers ministered to the family. Bruce Lowenberg gave a heartfelt eulogy. Michael Umfleet, Waylon Umfleet, Kevin Beck, Brad Williams, Jeff Janecek, James Janecek served as pallbearers. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 281, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
