Richard Ernest (Ernie) Foster, 89, of Piedmont, Missouri passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, June 24th after battling cancer.
Richard Ernest (Ernie) Foster was born October 12, 1931, in Mill Spring to Elmer & Mahala (Annie Boatwright) Foster. Ernie was a member of Bible Way Full Gospel Church. He accepted Jesus into his heart and life in March 2021.
Ernie was united in marriage to Jean on September 7, 1957, at Ramsey, Illinois. During their marriage they lived in a lot of different places and Ernie always did what was necessary to provide for his family. He loved and cared for his wife, two daughters, two grandchildren and two son-in-laws. He enjoyed going fishing, talking about timber and always had a fantastic garden. If you asked a hundred people who Ernie Foster was they would tell you he was an amazing, strong, determined and hardworking logger. He worked in the timber industry for over 65 years. Ernie worked in Missouri, Illinois, California, Colorado, and South Dakota. He cut his last load of logs when he was 85 years old. Ernie always had a story to share and loved to say silly things to make others laugh. We will miss our dad & papa’s wonderful/silly presence everyday, but we are so grateful for the time we had with him.
Ernie is survived by his wife Jean Foster of Piedmont, two daughters Pam (Kenny) Sutton of Patterson and Tammy (Curtis) Crowley of Knob Noster, MO; two grandchildren Breeanna (Danny) Vannier of Tinker AFB, OK, and Jordan (Lizzy) Sutton of Greenville, MO; one sister Pauline Gowen of Oroville, CA, and one brother in law Roger Chilton of St Peters, MO.
