Floyd "Buddy" Elmer Scowden, 84, of Sikeston, MO, formerly of Lowndes, MO, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Delta Hospital in Sikeston, MO. He was born November 9, 1937 at Lowdes, MO, to parents Roy and Edna (Esarey) Scowden.
Floyd was a loving brother and friend. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, working in his garden, and traveling. He was a Mason for over fifty years. He loved being around people and helping people. Floyd loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jean Scowden (Darnell) of twenty years; two brothers; Harold Lee Scowden and Lloyd Edward Scowden.
Floyd is survived by 6 stepchildren; Bobby Hopkins, Douglas (Tate) Bryant, Margo Hopkins, Tamare Ganine, Enola Leach, and Lisa Skaggs; one brother; James Scowden of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Sue Shirrell, of Farmington. He will be forever fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation was held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 11:00 am, also in the Greenville Chapel. Pastor Ed Shirrell ministered to the family. David Crites, Dale Cato, Jim Ganime, James Leach, John Rainey, and Travis Shirrell served as pallbearers.
