Franklin Montgomery

Franklin “Frank” Lee Montgomery, 89, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Patterson, MO, July 13, 1932, to parents Sampson Silas and Cassie Ann Montgomery.  

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Octa Street on August 12, 1950, and they were blessed with two daughters. He ran a Gulf Gas Station in O’Fallon for many years before becoming an over the road truck driver for eighteen years. Frank cherished the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Thomas, William, John, and James Montgomery; sister: Virginia Shoemake.  

Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife of seventy years; daughters: Jenny Lee Talley and husband William, Judy Ann Eatherton and husband Michael; grandchildren: Lisa Thompson and husband Brian, Laura Koons and husband Robert, Valarie Meyers and husband William, Joshua Windels and wife Cindy, Michael Eatherton and wife Barbara, Matthew Windels and wife Noel; great-grandchildren: Patrick Koons, Nicole Schlereth and husband Andrew, Clint Koons and fiancé Blythe Clubb, Jake Koons, Alexis Eatherton, Blake Eatherton, Brock Windels, Josephine Meyer, Luke Windels, Sophia Meyer, Benten Eatherton, Franklin Windels, and Joceyln Windels; great-great-grandchild: Emmelynne Koons; sister: Lily Ross of Piedmont. Frank will be missed by his family and friends.  

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 23, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 12:00 noon, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Josh Windels, Michael Eatherton, Matthew Windels, Brian Thompson, Bo Koons, and Will Meyer served as pallbearers.
