Fred Lee Mock, 74, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at his residence. Fred was born January 11, 1946, in Olney, IL, to the late Jesse and Sylvia (Tillman) Mock. Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. On March 25, 1993, he was united in marriage to Marsha Stillwell. Fred proudly served our great country in the United States Army serving multiple tours in Vietnam. He was a Green Beret and attained the rank of Sergeant . Fred loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Angelia Cutshall, and his sister; Donna Spinks. Fred is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years; daughters; Laura Mock of Granite City, IL, Crissy Skelton of Sikeston, MO, Jenna Mock of Piedmont, MO; stepson: Chris Villmer of Lebanon, IL; stepdaughters: Lisa Hoffman of Marissa, IL, Evon Cutshall of Piedmont, MO, Dody Cutshall of Cahokia, IL; grandchildren: Ricky Skelton, Ashton Skelton, and granddaughter Niki Cutshall he raised as a daughter; twenty-two step-grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren; brother: Jesse Mock of Piedmont, MO; sisters: Eva Horn and husband Garland of Granite City, IL, and Ella Frederick also of Granite City, IL; nephew: Philip Ward; and nieces: Susan Valle, Kathy Barron and husband Joseph, Cindy Hall and husband Joseph, and Crystal Meador. Fred will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation was held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. A second visitation was held from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, Friday, March 6, 2020, at Edwards Funeral Home, Doniphan, MO. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm also in the Doniphan Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Chris Villmer, Steve McDaniel, Ethan Hornsby, Bubba Scallion, Joe Hall, and Jason Standridge served as pallbearers. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Doniphan, MO, with full military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 281 of Piedmont.
