Gale Lutes

Gale Lutes, 67, of Silva, MO, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gale was born to parents Clyde and Mary Ann (Johnson) Lutes on June 7, 1954, at Poplar Bluff, MO.  He grew up in Wayne County and was a 1972 Greenville High School graduate. After school Gale joined the U.S. Airforce and honorably served in Alaska. After service he had worked as an over the road trucker for many years before going to work for Melvin Dildine.  He learned the excavation business and later formed Lutes Excavation in the early 1990’s. Gale had worked many years for the local phone company installing lines as a private contractor.

Gale was a family man and was dearly loved by them; a great son, that watched over his mother; a loving husband to Pam; and a loving father to his children. Dedication is a good word describing Gale. Family was his everything and he put them first.

Gale is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Pamela, of the home, two sons: Chad Lutes and wife Jessica, Paul Lutes all of Silva, MO; granddaughter, Charlotte Lutes; his loving mother, Mary Ann Lutes of Silva; brother, Mike Lutes and wife Janis of Festus; and sister Stephanie Barton of Tulsa, OK.

He was preceded in death by his father; and baby sister, Rita Lutes.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 25, 2022, in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Silva, MO. Pastor Mike Green ministered to the family. Chad Lutes, Paul Lutes, Mike Lutes, Mike Kinnard, Tyler Henson, and Frank Copeland served as pallbearers.
