George David Middleton

George David Middleton, 91, of Vulcan, MO, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at his home. He was born in Vulcan, MO, June 16, 1932, to parents Gilbert and Edna (Talley) Middleton.

George was a loving father, grandfather and brother. In his earlier years he worked in St. Louis as a concrete finisher. George enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, farming, logging, raising cattle, and he really loved going to the sale barn. He was a strong Christian man, who loved going to church. He was saved as a young man, and was member of Vulcan Assembly of God where he served as a  deacon for many years. If you knew George, you knew how much his family meant to him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita “Sissy” Middleton; brothers: Bid Middleton and Robert Middleton; sisters: Lucille Sheppard, Dorothy Freeman, June Reed, Loretta Patterson, and Nina Thompson.

George is survived by his children: David “Scotty” Middleton and wife Betsy of Des Arc, Roland Middleton and wife Mary Beth of Vulcan, Georgia Lawless of Vulcan; grandchildren: Ryan Middleton and wife Gretchen, Todd Middleton and wife Candace, Mya Middleton, Preston and wife April Lawless, Melissa Midkiff, Renae Middleton and significant other Jake Eaton, Kallie Slade and husband Braydon; great-grandchildren, whom he was very proud of: Cash Middleton, Weston Middleton, Blake Middleton, Colton Middleton, Slade Middleton, Kasen Midkiff, Caven Midkiff, Kohen Lawless, George Lawless; brothers: Bud Middleton of Vulcan, Lloyd Middleton and wife Rebecca of Halfway, Delmar Middleton and wife Lynn of Vulcan. George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Vulcan Assembly of God Church, Vulcan, MO. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also at Vulcan Assembly of God Church. Pastor Daniel Tidmore ministered to the family. Pastor Lloyd Middleton and Pastor Sam Hamilton both gave heart felt eulogies. Cash Middleton, Weston Middleton, Blake Middleton, Colton Middleton, Slade Middleton, Kasen Midkiff, Caven Midkiff, Kohen Lawless, and George Lawless served as pallbearers.
