Gertrude C. (Maichin) Durbin

Gertrude C. Durbin, 81, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born in Steinwand, Yugoslavia, September 6, 1940, to parents Raymond and Maria (Matcelle) Maichin.

Gertrude was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She married James Durbin March 19, 1969. Gertrude was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Piedmont. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for several years. Gertrude was an immaculate housekeeper and she loved yellow flowers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-four years; brother: Frank Maichin; sisters: Alma Shepard and Erica Piper.

Gertrude is survived by her stepchildren: Danny Durbin and wife Charleen of St. Louis, James Durbin and wife Consuelo of Houston, TX, Barb Webb of French Village; brother: Raymond Maichin; sister: Christine Hunteprinker-Durham of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Gertrude will be greatly missed.
