Jacqueline “Jackie” Lee Wallis, 92, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center, Piedmont, MO. Jackie was almost a lifelong resident of Piedmont, MO. She was born on March 8, 1934, at Leeper, MO, daughter of John T and Lucy B. (Hull) Copeland.
Jackie attended Piedmont High School and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. As a young lady she worked at Toney’s Drug Store. After graduation she began a new journey that would take her to Texas where she became a licensed beautician and worked in the El Paso and Galveston areas. After several years in Texas, she came home and worked with her parents at Crown Beauty and Barber for over twenty years. During this time, she met her future best friend and husband Bobby J. “Bob” Wallis. They were married on June 13, 1959. They shared forty years together before he passed January 17, 2000. After her career as a beautician, she worked for Brown Shoe at Piedmont on the assembly line until they closed. After her retirement from Brown Shoe, Jackie spent her free time helping Bob maintain the airport grounds. She loved the many peaceful hours that her and Bob spent together at the airport.
Jackie had many interests. She was an avid reader, a true animal lover, especially dogs. Jackie had a deep faith in God and had past attended Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church near Piedmont. Her life was blessed with true friends, Jean Holland and Artie Street and wife Faye and their children and grandchildren. She was blessed with one son, John David Wallis of Benbrook, Tx. During the last three years John had taken great pride in taking care of her. They frequently traveled from Piedmont to Benbrook. It was an adventure they both enjoyed, and many memories were made.
Jackie is survived by her son John Wallis of Benbrook, TX, sister-in-law Lois Wallis of Arnold, MO, niece Peggy Nalls of Columbia, MO, nephews Jeff Wallis of Florence, AL, Marty (Jill) Monson of St. Louis, MO, and Rick (Jean) Laurrell of Lonedell, MO.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her beloved mother-in-law Jessie Wallis, sister-in-law Eva Lou Wallis, brother-in-law Max Wallis, and nephew Tim Monson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
