James "Jim" Melvin Birchfield, 75, of Piedmont, MO, passed away February 24, 2022, at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center, Piedmont, MO. He was born September 8, 1946, to parents James and Ruth (Castle) Birchfield, Ann Arbor, MI. He owned Best Buy Auto lot in St. Louis for many years before retiring. On December 14, 2004, Jim married Sharon Buckner.
He was a longtime resident of Piedmont.
Jim enjoyed Clearwater Lake on his pontoon, listening to the Temptations and smoking a joint. Throughout the years, he also owned many restored, vintage cars that he placed in car shows around the state.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Sharon; children: James Stief of St. Louis, Bobby O’Brien of Sedgewickville, Niccole Vincent of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Kaine and Paris O’Brien, Atlas and Rhyan Vincent; great-grandson Danny Chapman Jr.; sister, Carol Heenan of French Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michele Birchfield; grandson, Danny Chapman; brothers, Jerry Birchfield and Larry Birchfield.
