James Franklin Hanger, 85, of Tamaroa, IL, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022, at his residence. He was born in St. Louis, MO, June 9, 1937, to parents Jefferson and Avis (Lawson) Hanger.
James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. James loved his country and proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed going “bumming” visiting with his family and friends, as well as fishing and riding around in his truck. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Jeff, Harold, and Pete Hanger, sisters: Frieda Hanger and Betty Tifenauer. James is survived by his loving daughter: Rhonda Franey and husband Robert of Tamaroa, IL; grandchildren: Stacy Asher and husband Lyle of Sparta, IL, Stephanie Franey of Waterloo, IL; great-grandchildren: Ellie Asher, Charolette Asher, Grayson Hall, Hayden Hall; sisters: Loretta Lundy, Marcella Richardson both of Piedmont, Rebecca Prunty of St. Louis; many nieces, nephews, and friends. James will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
