James "Jimmy" Arthur Carmack, 67, of Greenville, MO, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 18, 2024. He was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, on August 5, 1957, to Elvis "Butch" and Eva Larada (Allen) Carmack.
Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Rhonda Weekley on November 25, 2000, and together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and community. In 1998, they became the proud owners of Midway Dive-Inn, a popular local establishment that they ran together until 2020. Jimmy’s dedication to the business was matched only by his love for his family.
An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He was also a loyal supporter of local sports, frequently attending games to cheer on the Three Rivers Basketball team and watching Ronnie Duncan race. He was also a knife enthusiast. Jimmy found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Although Jimmy was a man of few words, he never met a stranger. His kind and approachable nature made it easy for him to connect with others, and his presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. Above all, Jimmy's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Christera, who was his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife; daughters: Ellen Medley and husband Andy of Poplar Bluff, and Christera Connell of Greenville; his grandson, Gavin Medley; his brothers: Ronnie Carmack of Silva, Rick Carmack of Greenville, and Kevin Carmack of Silva; his sister, Connie Allen and husband Aaron of Marble Hill; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community he cherished. His quiet strength, generosity, and love will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him.
