Janiece Douglas, 91, of Piedmont, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born in Piedmont on May 2, 1928, to parents Lee and Lula (Clark) Lewis. Janiece was a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother. She married William R. Douglas, Jr., on March 24, 1951, and to this union, two children were born. Janiece was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Piedmont. She enjoyed her farm and working in her yard. She loved bowling and enjoyed driving around in the area stopping at McDonald's to visit with friends. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, and a son, William "Willie" R. Douglas, III; two brothers, George Lewis, Jr. and John L. Lewis; three sisters: Hazel Marie Montgomery, Marjorie Lucille Lewis, and Kathern L. Lewis. Janiece is survived by a daughter: Janice (Tom) Stout of Ellington, MO; a grandchild, Jonathan (Tabitha) Stout of Ellington, MO; a nephew: Christopher Lee (Barbara) Montgomery; a great-nephew, Tyler Lee (Skylar) Montgomery; and several more nieces and nephews. Janiece will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation was held at 5:30 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Funeral service followed at 11:00 am, Friday, July 12, 2019 also at the Piedmont Chapel. Pall bearers were Frank McAllister, Lester Ruble, Jonathan Stout,Tom Moore, Jim Moore, Tom Stout, and Dusty Burton. Pastor Jim Stewart ministered to the family.
