Jeanne Ethelyn (Smith) Wallace

Jeanne Ethelyn Wallace, age 82, of Mill Spring, MO, passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2023, surrounded by her family in Festus, MO. Born on November 1, 1940, in St. Louis, Jeanne was the daughter of Clayton Shelba and Dortha Evelyn (Foster) Smith. On July 11, 1959, she married “her Marine”, Jimmy Wallace, and together, they had four children.

Jeanne loved a good story, whether it was a book or a movie, like Avatar, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. You could find her remodeling her home, always with a project she was working on. While cooking, she would play cards with her family and friends around the dining room table. She instilled the love of travel into her children, after their trips out west every summer.

Jeanne is joining her husband of 59 years, Jimmy Lloyd Wallace.

She is survived by their three children, Misty, Tim, and Casey and wife Dena; her eight grandchildren, Miranda and husband Arthur, Mitchell, Jessie, Timothy, Sarah and husband Jason, Ashley and husband Jacob, Megan and husband Tom, and William; her nine great-grandchildren, Haley, Braeden, Charli, Mia, Tyler, Carlie, Thomas, Luke, and Molly. She is also survived by her brother, Shelby (Ray) Smith, and three siblings-in-law, Linda Wilder, DeeDee Vance, and Vonda Wallace. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert James Wallace.

Visitation was held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 11:00 am, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Neil Chilton ministered to the family. Megan Cavins, William Wallace, Ashley Wallace, Kevin Wilder, Jesse Eveland, Clint served as pallbearers. Burial took place at Carson Hill Cemetery near Mill Spring.
