Jerold Sammy Tucker

Jerold Sammy Tucker, born on October 27, 1957, in Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was the beloved son of Henry Andrew and Betty Jo (Ingram) Tucker, who preceded him in death.

A faithful Christian, Jerold was a dedicated member of Harvest Baptist Church in Piedmont. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he found joy and strength in his community.

Jerold enjoyed traveling and spent many years as a truck driver for Gregory Logistics, where he covered an incredible four million, five hundred ninety thousand, two hundred seventy-five miles—accident-free. His journeys on the open road were marked by a laid-back, positive outlook on life, which he carried into every aspect of his being.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Donnie Tucker; sisters: Shirley Herbert and Margret Houston.

Above all, Jerold cherished his family, who were the heart of his existence. He is survived by his ex-wife, Sondra Tucker, with whom he shared thirty-one years; his children, Tonya (Tucker) Whitehead and her husband Scott, Jerold Joshua Tucker and his wife Ashley. Jerold was a proud grandfather to Sebastion Michael Barker, Sterling Maxwell Whitehead, Caroline Eleanor Whitehead, Brayleigh RaeJean Nicole Tucker, Laiklynn Amelia Mae Tucker, Paxton Grayson Leslie Tucker, Spencer Bryson Anthony Thomas, Mason Alexander Eugene Tucker, and Milo Elliot Turner;  brothers: Sonny Steward of Texas, Joe Emerson Tucker and wife Linda, John Tucker and wife Beth, and Jack Tucker; his sisters: Betty Streck and husband Ronnie, and Jeannett Dobbs and husband Jerry, all of Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Jerold’s spirit, kindness, and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation was held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 3:00 pm, Friday, October 18, 2024, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Pete Ruble ministered to the family. Tonya Whitehead gave a heartfelt eulogy. John Tucker, Sebastion Barker, Steve Bostic, Johnny Wilburn, Jack Tucker, Sonny Stewart, John Tucker, Scott Whitehead served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont.
