Jerome Lee Nelson

Jerome Lee Nelson, 60, of Coldwater, MO, passed away July 17, 2021, in Bonne Terre, MO. He was born at the family home in Poplar Bluff, MO, June 22, 1961, to parents Jasper Henry and Norma (Tibbs) Wilson. 

Jerome was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed listening to Elvis and dancing whenever possible. At a young age, he looked forward to participating in Special Olympics. Jerome worked over twenty-five years at the Wayne County Sheltered Workshop in Piedmont and made many friends there. 

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister: Doris Jean Nelson. 

Jerome is survived by his mother of the home; brothers: Johnny Nelson and wife Terrie of Gainesville, Allen Nelson of Coldwater, Anthony Nelson of Clubb, Gary Nelson and wife Joyce of Owensville, Earnie Wilson and wife Shawna of Ellsinore; sisters: Vera Archer of Oak Ridge, Yvonne Smith of Fredericktown; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles. Jerome will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Greenville Chapel. Bro. Carliss Jeffries ministered to the family. Johnny Nelson, Allen Nelson, Anthony Nelson, Gary Nelson, Earnie Wilson, and Justin Shields served as pallbearers. Burial was in Lewis Cemetery, Lodi.
