Jerry Pennington, 79, of Greenville, MO, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff. Jerry was born June 7, 1946, at Broseley, MO, to parents Gerald Pennington and Nora Davis.
Jerry lived a full life and served our country in the US Army from 1963 until 1966. On June 8, 1968 he married his love Rosie "Polly" Johnson and together they spent fifty-one wonderful years together.
Jerry was a hard worker and worked decades at Proctor and Gamble in St. Louis. Before retirement, he had his own team in production that he was responsible for. Jerry was known to be a reliable man, a loving husband and a great dad. After Polly’s death Donna and Jerry became closer and Donna enjoyed this time. From many walks in the woods to sharing a granddog named duke, they were clearly there for each other. Donna knew just from the walks that her dad had a deep faith in God. Nature brought a special joy to Jerry, from fishing trips, to feeding his turtles, racoons, and bees, to post office trips with Duke, Jerry enjoyed his peace and simple life. He was a Christian and had past attended Kime General Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by his loving daughter, Donna Pennington of Greenville; loving sisters; Ruby Wirtel and husband Robert and Dorothy Clubb and husband Leon all of Greenville; many nieces and nephews and great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Polly; and brother Glen Pennington.
