Jerry Ray Stevenson, 82, of Vulcan, MO, passed away on November 4, 2024. Born on March 26, 1942, in Vulcan to Benton and Marie (Charlton) Stevenson, Jerry was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched many lives.
A dedicated member of Local Union 513, Jerry worked as a heavy machine operator in the construction industry for over forty years. He was not only known for his strong work ethic but also for his vibrant personality and musical talents. An accomplished musician, Jerry loved to sing and play guitar, sharing his passion with audiences across Missouri and beyond. He also enjoyed entertaining family and friends from the deck of his pontoon boat on the lake, creating cherished memories with loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Stevenson; daughter, Lynn Stevenson; brothers Guy, Eugene, Vernon, Lowell, and Richard Stevenson; and sisters Patricia Potter, Carolyn Fulton, and Melba Clifford.
He is survived by his sons: Rick Stevenson and Jerry Lee Stevenson both of Festus; grandchildren: Laurn, Chayne, Shawn, Brady, Bryan, Tyler, and Katie; brother: Gary Stevenson and wife Rita of Kentucky; sisters: Shirley Caldwell of Wappapello, Charlotte McClain and husband Dennis of O'Fallon, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jerry will be greatly missed for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Visitation was held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Margaret "Margie" Gagne gave a heartfelt eulogy. Jerry Lee Stevenson, Sandra Mueller, Brady Stevenson, Bryan Stevenson, Mandy Greenstreet, and Shawn Stevenson served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc, MO.
