Jerry L. Taylor, 84, of St. Louis, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born in Patterson, MO, December 28, 1938, to parents Joseph and Ruth (Green) Taylor.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He married Betty LeBlanc, April 30, 1961, and they were blessed with two sons. Jerry was hard working man and a good provider for his family, who he always put first. He was a computer programmer for the Department of Agriculture for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. Jerry was an avid artist and painter. He enjoyed writing poetry, and he dabbled in writing music in his earlier years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Jerald Shearrer and husband Oran.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years; sons: Gregory Taylor and wife Kelly Ann of St. Louis, Joseph Taylor and wife Kelly of St. Louis; grandchildren: Ariella and Luke Taylor, Caitlynn Ward and life partner Josh Schneider, Ferris Ward and wife Jaimie; great-grandchild: Adaline Schneider. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 12:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Rick Owsley ministered to the family. Burial was in Rowland-Woods Cemetery, Patterson, MO. Online condolences can be made to www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
