John Allen Shy

John Allen Shy, 69, of Desloge, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at St. Mary’s in St. Louis. He was born in St. Louis, MO, to parents Howard and Lilian (Grenia) Shy.

John was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was of the Christian faith. He was a Steel Worker in St. Louis. John grew up in Brunot and graduated from Clearwater High School. In his free time John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. John was a regular guy and really enjoyed his classic cars and his motorcycle. John was so ornery he had a contest in the tenth grade to see who could get the most spankings, John got forty-two and he won. John, all around, was a great and funny guy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Anthony “Tony” Shy.

John is survived by his children: Camille Shy of Kansas City, MO, Elizabeth Shy and her companion Mike Narx of Piedmont, Ashley Shy of Desloge; grandchildren: Jacob Burlbaugh, Jaxen Burlbaugh, Michael Narx Jr, Carter Bourbon, Malia Morales, Shayle Morales; brothers: William Shy of Farmington, Joseph Shy of Potosi. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation was held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
