Juanita R. Faulkner, 77, of Piedmont, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on September 18, 1947, in Houston, TX, to James Anson and Violet Florine (Moore) Davis.
Juanita was a nurturing mother, devoted grandmother, loving sister, aunt, and friend, she was known for her nurturing spirit and her unwavering love for those closest to her. Juanita proudly served in the Salvation Army where she met the love of her life, Robert Faulkner. On January 24, 1970, they were married and blessed with four children and shared a loving marriage before Robert’s passing. Juanita’s greatest joy came from her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Juanita was a dedicated Christian and an active member of Friendship Baptist Church in Piedmont, where she shared her faith and formed lasting bonds within her church community. She was a woman of many talents, with a particular love for crafting. Juanita spent countless hours creating beautiful cross-stitch projects and putting together puzzles. She had a special fondness for collecting frog figurines and enjoyed watching football, especially when her favorite teams were playing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, daughters: Dianna Faulkner and Sandra Faulkner; brothers: Ralph Rutan and Cecil Rutan; sisters: Violet Whitney and Florine Holm.
Juanita is survived by her children: William "Stan" Faulkner and companion Susan Westling of Marietta,GA, Pam Deckard and husband Rick of Piedmont; grandchildren: Reese, Rowan and Vann Faulkner, Baylee, Braylan, and Raylan Deckard, Kayden, Alayna, Aleeya and Kameron Gore; brothers: Norman Rutan of Annamosa, IA; sisters: Charolette Hillary and husband Paul of Hazel Green, WI; Louise Maus and husband Joe of Dubuque, IA; Francis Costas of Letts, IA; many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Juanita's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation was held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Don Hutto ministered to the family. Stan Faulkner, Rick Deckard, Susan Westling, Brent Deckard, Rodney Deckard, and Ray Deckard served as pallbearers.
