On Friday, May 8, 2020, at age 99, Katie Lucille (Tinker) Brading (known as "Ceal" to her cousins) went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, from her home in Ellington. She was born April 14, 1921, in her grandparents' house in the Paint Rock area of Shannon County, Missouri, to Samuel and Thomascine (Potts) Tinker. On April 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Army Master Sergeant John E. Brading, who passed into Heaven on October 5, 1987. To this loving union was born one daughter. Preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers, Loren and Leonard. Katie leaves behind her daughter Faye (Brading) Pryor of Ellington and many local cousins, as well as numerous friends from Cornerstone Baptist Church of Missouri City, Texas (the Ard, Gideons, King, and Maciel families) and Victory Baptist Temple of Piedmont, Missouri (the Edgy, Martino, Miller, and Parker families, and her Sunday school class of ladies, taught by Kay Adams). Much appreciation to the CNAs, nurses, and staff of Preferred Hospice for their loving and faithful care and support of Katie (and Faye) over the past seven months. Over the past 68 years, Katie gave and received love from her husband's three adult children. A daughter, Jane (Brading) Harris, and a son, John E. Brading, Jr., preceded her in death, along with grandsons Bobby Harris and Roger Clark. A second daughter, Joan (Brading) Clark and her son Rick and his family reside in Sparta, Missouri. Katie was thrilled to spend time over the past eight years with her step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren. After asking Jesus to save her soul in 1996, she devoted her life to telling others about her Lord, studying her Bible, teaching Sunday school, and praying for her church family and missionaries. She was especially fond of all babies and children, so she was given many opportunities to serve in the church nursery! Katie will be missed by many, many folks who loved her but who are also planning to see her again. She would want you to know her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. Visitation was held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, May 15, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Jeff Parker and Bro. Scott Miller ministered to the family. Anna, Eli, and Ty Edgy provided music accompanied by pianist, Sara Edgy. Burial was in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, Missouri. Pallbearers were provided by Military personnel of Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
