Kim Combs Obituary

Kim Combs, 58, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Little Rock, AR. Born on June 19, 1967, in Poplar Bluff, MO, Kim was the beloved daughter of Dale and Glenda (Adair) Million.

Kim was a loving wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, devoted daughter, sister, and cherished friend. She married the love of her life, Scott Combs, on May 28, 2009, and together they shared seventeen wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

A dedicated journalist and community leader, Kim devoted thirty-six years to the Wayne County Journal-Banner. Beginning her career as a reporter, she rose through the ranks to become General Manager, overseeing numerous newspapers throughout the region. Her commitment to local journalism and her passion for serving her community left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Kim had a deep appreciation for history and loved traveling to historical sites, especially Abraham Lincoln's home in Springfield, IL, presidential libraries, and other places of historical significance. She was a strong pillar of the Wayne County community and generously gave her time and talents to numerous organizations. She served as Secretary and Board Member of the Wayne County Historical Society, was a member of the Missouri Press Association Board of Directors, participated in the Rotary Club, supported Missouri Extension programs, sponsored Rotary International initiatives, and was a dedicated supporter of the Children's Home in Paragould, Arkansas.

Kim found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting fountain pens, loved shopping for her grandchildren, and especially enjoyed finding bows for her granddaughter, Sawyer. Family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She attended Green Forest Church of Christ of Poplar Bluff and lived her faith through her kindness, humility, and servant's heart. Though she accomplished much throughout her life, she preferred working behind the scenes, never seeking recognition for her many contributions.

Above all, Kim loved being a grandmother. Few things brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandson Sutton, and she eagerly anticipated the arrival of her granddaughter, Sawyer.

In addition to her parents, Kim is survived by her loving husband, Scott Combs of Piedmont; her daughter, Addison Miller and husband Tyler of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; her grandson, Sutton Miller; her soon-to-arrive granddaughter, Sawyer; and her sister, Cindy Jensen and husband Jason of New Bloomfield, MO, nephew, Clay Jensen and wife Cheyenne of Bunker.

Kim's legacy of kindness, service, humility, and love will continue to live on through her family, friends, colleagues, and the community she faithfully served. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
