LaRae (Russell) Dean

LaRae Dean, 89, of Annapolis, MO, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. LaRae was born August 23, 1936, daughter of Jesse Myrtle and Verna Gertrude (Sutton) Russell in Iron County, MO.

On October 10, 1954 LaRae was united in marriage to Robert Vernon "Bob" Ruble and to this union three children were born. Bob passed away May 19, 1962. She later married Louie Andrew “Dizz” Dean on January 9, 1982 and he passed away July 18, 2008.

LaRae was one of a kind. She spoke with the law of kindness and a smile. Her gentle demeaner was who she was to her very core. Her children recall she always saw the best in everyone and never heard her say bad of anyone. If someone was doing something they should not have been she would say, “Bless their heart, they didn’t mean to do that.”  She was a lifelong resident of Iron County. She was a member of Vulcan Assembly of God Church and was a director at East Missouri Community Action Agency for thirty years. She had been very involved with Head Start program for many years. LaRae was a hard worker and she expected those around her to work also. She was steadfast in her beliefs Family was everything to LaRae. A good meal and a good conversation were her most enjoyable things. Holidays and vacations with family were such happy times for her. During her last years her ducks and Larry the cat also brought her joy. LaRae left a legacy that will be hard to follow. The joy she left will follow her family in the years ahead.

LaRae is survived by her loving children: Joan Reyes of Piedmont and Michael Ruble and wife Julie of Annapolis, MO. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Shelly Gayle and husband Andy, Shane Reyes and wife Julia, Michael Ruble and wife Angie, Cristie Ayers and husband Jeff; her loving great grandchildren: Darian, Drew, Emmy, Taylor, Anias, Amos, Avett, Michaela and husband Takota, Madison, Gabe, Wayland, and Caden.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by son Ronald Ruble; her sister, Doris Teany; and son in law Cleve Reyes.

Visitation was held at 12 noon, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Vulcan Assembly of God Church, Vulcan, MO. Funeral followed at 2:00 pm, also in Vulcan Assembly of God Church. Pastor Daniel Tidmore ministered to the family. Shane Reyes, Michael Ruble, Andy Gayle, Jeff Ayers, Wayland Ruble, Gabe Ruble, and Caden Ruble served as pallbearers.
