Lee Roy DeSpain, 92, of Campbell, MO, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County. Lee Roy was born June 28, 1927, in Burch, MO, the son of Elijah and Lillie Jane (Lutes) DeSpain. He was an ordained minister and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Campbell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Aurthor N. DeSpain, and two sisters, Lulu Mae Ward and Edna Mae Guess.
Lee Roy is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mabel (Asberry) DeSpain of Campbell; three sons, Greg DeSpain and wife Julie of Poplar Bluff; Russell DeSpain and wife Teresa of Mount Vernon, KY; Neal DeSpain and wife Diana of Campbell; two daughters, Melissa Gilchrist and husband Ken of Brook, IN; and Lucretia Goodwin and husband Dan of Reynolds Station, KY; twenty-two grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was at 6:00 pm, Friday, June 19, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 20, 2020, also at the Greenville Chapel. Pastor Tony Wood and Bro. Kenneth McFadden ministered to the family. Grandchildren and Eric Walker provided music. Burial was in Twidwell Cemetery in Clubb.
