Lena Martha (O"Connor) Wilkins

Lena Martha Wilkins, 86, of Annapolis, MO, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at Parkland Health Center, Farmington, MO.

Lena was born on Mar. 6, 1939, to parents Joseph Francis and Frances Lela (Kilgrove) O’Connor at Zigler, IL.

Lena was a 1957 graduate of Trico, IL high school. She met the love of her life, Claude Wilkins, by chance meeting and they married in March 1957. They were together for each other through thick and thin and they raised a lovely family of five children. Lena had a passion for life and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was steadfast in her beliefs and usually was right or at least she was confident in that belief. Her family honored her for the many sacrifices she made for them. One of her greatest joys was to have her family living near her. Lena found Jesus at an early age and was a faithful servant. She spent many years as a member of Free Spirit Baptist Church near Des Arc.

Lena is survived by her loving children: Lisa Hamilton and husband Kevin of Annapolis, Lance Wilkins and wife Debra of Annapolis, Lamont Wilkins of Annapolis, Lacinda Sutton and husband Dale of Annapolis; her loving grandchildren: Lela Mason, Christina Berry and husband Sean, Brandy Millikan and husband Scott, Joseph Hamilton, Lakota Ferguson and husband Nick, Michalla Wilkins, Isabella Kemp and husband Zach, Haley Bond and husband Ethan, Tyne Sutton; loving great grandchildren: Connor, Olivia, Jada, Lane, Eden, Liam, Easton, Emma, Camden, Ryker, Tate, and one on the way.

In addition to her parents and husband Lena was preceded in death by daughter, Lawonna Mason, one grandchild, Daniel Wilkins; and brothers: Joseph O’Connor and Frank O’Connor.

Lena will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, July 7, 2025, from 9:30 am until funeral time at 11:00 am. This was all at Free Spirit Baptist Church near Des Arc. Burial followed at Mann Cemetery near Annapolis. Pastor Steve Sale ministered to the family and Lamont Wilkins, Lance Wilkins, Connor Mason, Joe Hamilton, Dale Sutton, Zach Kemp, Ethan Bond, and Nick Ferguson served as pallbearers.
