Linda Rose White Townsend, passed away at 77 years of age on March 12, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. She was born on August 29, 1948 in Ironton,MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Claudia White of Piedmont, MO, and is survived by her older sister Alice White Ward and son Kevin Ward both of Lake Ozark, MO and daughter Alicia Ward Macke of Wardsville, MO. She is also survived by her sister Doris Ramsey of Piedmont (and son David Ellinghouse) and brother Wade and his wife Janice of Willow Springs (and their children Adam, Eric and April). She leaves behind 14 great nieces and nephews all of whom she loved very much.
Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff where she was baptized. Due to a long illness, she was unable to attend often, but she loved her church family and was always welcomed and treated kindly there.
Linda attended and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1966 where she was very active in band, cheerleading, choir, Beta Club and FBLA. She was also crowned the Yearbook Queen in 1965. She was a lovely and intelligent young lady with many friends.
Visitation for Linda will be at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont Monday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 12:00 at funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc, MO. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
