Lloyd Edward Scowden, age 86, of Poplar Bluff, MO, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lowndes, MO, December 8, 1935, to the late Roy and Edna (Esarey) Scowden.
Lloyd was a loving brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his peers, sitting outside, traveling on trips, or just riding around in the car, going to the park and steak-n-shake. Lloyd loved to participate in all activities, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lee Scowden.
Lloyd is survived by two brothers: Floyd Scowden of Sikeston and James Scowden of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Sue Shirrell, of Farmington. A special Thank You to the staff at Southeast Missouri Residential Services for the excellent care they provided for Lloyd. He will be forever fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service was held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Corinth Cemetery, Lowndes, MO. Pastor Ed Shirrell ministered to the family. Dale Cato, DR Barks, David Crites, Leeman Shirrell, James Scowden, and Travis Shirrell served as pallbearers. Burial followed service.
