Loretta "Sue" Hill, age 90, of Patterson, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Ironton, MO. She was born January 7, 1935, in Piedmont, MO, to parents Simon and Lora (Melton) Allen.
Sue was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On July 1, 1949, she married the love of her life, Clecy Hill, and they were blessed with four daughters.
A faithful member of United Baptist Church, Sue lived her life with a strong sense of family and faith. She was known for her spunky personality and a little bit of that good-natured "ornery" streak that made her unforgettable. Whether she was riding her three-wheeler with her grandchildren, picking blackberries in her younger days, or frying up potatoes and chicken for her family, Sue created memories that will be treasured forever. Her divinity candy was a favorite among the kids, and her spontaneous spirit brought joy to everyone around her.
Sue was also incredibly selfless and fiercely devoted to her family. Her stubbornness was just another reflection of the strength and resilience she carried throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of thirty-six years; daughters: Kathy Phelps, Carolyn Million; brother: Hadley Lewis; sister: Norma Gilliand; son-in-law: Jerry Phelps.
Sue is survived by her daughters: Mary Warren and husband Mike of Piedmont, Deanna Mayfield and husband Roger (AKA: her favorite) of Patterson; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers: Harold Lewis of Fenton, Kenneth "Ricky" Lewis and wife Esther of Kirkwood; sister: Mary Finimore of Florissant; son-in-law: Roy Million of Piedmont; a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.
Visitation was held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel.
